| The Pamunkey Woman's Club has been in existence since 1932, her members serving the citizens across Hanover County by offering their time to countless worthy causes and raising money to support many local agencies including fire departments and rescue squads and awarding scholarships to local students. In addition, members of the Pamunkey Woman's Club join hands with other club members across the world whose clubs are also a part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and whose mission is to do all they can to make the world a better place. | |||

Pamunkey History The Pamunkey Woman's Club was organized March 16, 1932 and Federated in April 1932. When many women started working and could not attend daytime meetings, the Evening Division was organized in 1958. The Evening Division had its own officers, held separate meetings, but it functioned as an integral part of the Pamunkey Woman's Club. The Chairman of the Evening Division was Third Vice President of the Club. By mutual consent, in May 1976, the Day and Night Divisions of the Pamunkey Woman's Club became separate clubs, with the names Pamunkey Evening Woman's Club and Pamunkey Day Woman's Club. At the end of 1995 the Pamunkey Day Woman's Club disbanded and the Pamunkey Evening Woman's Club, with approval of the VFWC and GFWC, went back to its roots and is now the Pamunkey Woman's Club. |
